What is an aurochs?
he aurochs (/ˈɔːrɒks/ or /ˈaʊrɒks/; pl. aurochs), also urus, ure (Bos primigenius), is a grand extinct wild ox that inhabited Europe, Asia and North Africa. It is the ancestor of domestic cattle. Julius Caesar, in Chapter 6.28 of Gallic War, observed the following about aurochs:
